Owned by Royal Media Services, Citizen TV is a free-to-air news station in Kenya that mostly transmits in English and Swahili. It began in 1999 and was restarted in June 2006. Entertainment programming from both domestic and foreign sources is broadcast on Citizen TV. It features a respectable quantity of local material and news in addition to airing a wide range of soap operas.
